How StudyVerdict works.
We publish our verification, scoring, moderation, and dispute rules in full so that students, providers, and journalists can hold us to them.
Verification
Every reviewer signs in with an educational email (.edu, .ac.in, .ac.uk, .edu.au) or verified ID. Reviewers receive an anonymous handle by default so retaliation against individual students is not possible; identity is always validated server-side.
Sub-scores
Each review carries five 1–5 sub-scores: Quality, On-Time, Communication, Plagiarism-Free, and Value. Aggregate ratings are unweighted averages across all published reviews. Provider responses do not affect any sub-score.
Moderation
Every submitted review passes through an AI classifier (currently claude-haiku-4-5) that produces a risk score and a structured set of signals. Low-risk reviews are auto-published; mid-risk reviews enter a 4-hour human-moderation queue; defamatory or PII-bearing reviews are held until cleared.
Right of reply & disputes
Claimed providers can respond publicly to any review. Factual disputes are arbitrated by editorial and logged in the public-format audit trail. We do not remove reviews on commercial grounds.
No paid placements
StudyVerdict accepts subscription fees from providers to surface their listings (claim badges, lead capture, analytics). Subscriptions do not influence the aggregate rating or editorial "best-of" rankings, and that separation is technically enforced.
