1. About StudyVerdict
StudyVerdict ("Platform", "we", "us", "our") is an independent consumer review platform operated from India. We collect verified student reviews of assignment-help services and freelance tutors, process those reviews through an editorial and moderation pipeline, and publish aggregate verdicts.
We are an intermediary under Section 79 of the Information Technology Act, 2000 ("IT Act") and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 ("IT Rules"). We do not originate reviews, endorse any service provider, or guarantee the accuracy of any individual review. We publish third-party user-generated content in good faith after moderation.
StudyVerdict does not provide, facilitate, promote, or otherwise participate in academic assignment completion. We are a review directory only.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Platform — whether as a reviewer, visitor, or registered service provider — you accept these Terms in full. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform. These Terms constitute a binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872.
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account or submit a review.
3. Reviewer Obligations
By submitting a review you warrant and represent that:
- You are a genuine consumer who personally used the service you are reviewing.
- Every material fact in your review is true to the best of your knowledge.
- You have not received any payment, discount, gift, or other consideration from the service provider (or any party acting on their behalf) in exchange for the review.
- You are not an employee, owner, director, or agent of the service provider being reviewed, nor of any competitor of that provider.
- Your review does not contain personally identifiable information of any third party, threatening language, or content that is obscene, defamatory, or illegal under Indian law.
Submitting a false review is a breach of these Terms and may expose you to civil and criminal liability under Indian law, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
4. Service Provider Obligations
Service providers listed on StudyVerdict — whether they have claimed their listing or not — are subject to the following:
- No manipulation. You must not, directly or indirectly: (a) solicit, incentivise, or coordinate the submission of fake, misleading, or disproportionately positive reviews; (b) discourage, threaten, or retaliate against users who submit honest negative reviews; (c) use bots, scripts, VPNs, or coordinated human campaigns to inflate or deflate any rating on the Platform.
- Responses must be truthful. Public responses to reviews must be factually accurate and must not contain defamatory statements about reviewers or third parties.
- Claim legitimacy. When claiming a listing, you warrant that you are authorised to represent the business named in the listing.
5. Anti-Spam and Review Manipulation Policy
StudyVerdict operates a zero-tolerance policy on review manipulation. We reserve the right — without notice and without liability — to:
- Reject, suppress, or remove any review we reasonably believe to be fake, coordinated, incentivised, or otherwise inauthentic.
- Permanently suspend or terminate any user or provider account found to be involved in manipulation, with immediate effect.
- Publicly label a provider's listing as "Detected manipulation attempt" or equivalent, as a matter of public-interest consumer disclosure. This label constitutes truthful reporting of platform conduct, not defamation.
- Forfeit without refund any subscription fees paid by a provider whose account is terminated for manipulation.
- Disclose evidence of manipulation to relevant consumer protection authorities, including the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Detection methods include but are not limited to: IP address clustering, device fingerprinting, writing-style similarity analysis, account creation patterns, and AI-assisted risk scoring.
6. Protection of Genuine Reviews
StudyVerdict will never delete, suppress, shadow-ban, or alter a genuine verified review in response to commercial pressure from a service provider.
A service provider's subscription status, payment history, or any commercial relationship with StudyVerdict confers absolutely no right to request the removal or modification of authentic reviews. Any such request will be logged, refused, and the requesting party notified in writing.
Reviews may be removed only in the following circumstances:
- The reviewer themselves requests removal of their own review.
- The review is found to be fake, incentivised, or in breach of Section 3 above, following our moderation process.
- A valid court order from a competent Indian court, specifically directing removal, is received and verified.
- The review contains content that is illegal under applicable Indian law (e.g., obscene content under BNS).
7. Platform Fees — What You Are Paying For
This section must be read carefully by every paying service provider.
Subscription and platform fees charged by StudyVerdict are exclusively for access to platform tools and features, including but not limited to: verified business badge, public response capability, lead capture inbox, provider analytics dashboard, and premium listing visibility. Fees are charged for these tools, not for any promise of editorial favour, rating improvement, review content, or preferential treatment.
Specifically and without exception:
- Payment of any fee does not improve, inflate, or in any way influence a provider's aggregate rating or sub-scores.
- Payment of any fee does not entitle a provider to have any review removed, edited, or suppressed.
- Payment of any fee does not guarantee placement in any editorial "best-of" guide or ranking.
- Editorial "best-of" rankings are computed solely from verified-student review data, as described in our published Methodology at /trust. They are not for sale.
Any provider who subscribes believing that fees purchase favourable editorial treatment is mistaken. No employee, agent, or representative of StudyVerdict is authorised to make such a representation.
Fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable Indian law.
8. Intellectual Property
Reviewers retain copyright in their review text but grant StudyVerdict a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide licence to publish, display, reproduce, and distribute their review on the Platform and in summaries or citations.
All Platform design, code, logos, editorial copy, and aggregated data are the intellectual property of StudyVerdict. You may not scrape, reproduce, or republish Platform content without written permission.
9. Intermediary Status and Liability
StudyVerdict operates as an intermediary as defined under Section 2(w) of the IT Act. Pursuant to Section 79 of the IT Act and Rule 3 of the IT Rules, StudyVerdict is not liable for third-party content (i.e., user reviews) published on the Platform, provided it acts in accordance with its due-diligence obligations, which include:
- Publishing these Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, and Privacy Policy.
- Maintaining a Grievance Officer and responding to grievances within prescribed timelines (see Section 11).
- Acting expeditiously on valid court orders.
StudyVerdict is not the author of user reviews and cannot be held liable for defamation claims arising from truthful reviews submitted by verified users in good faith, consistent with the defence of truth (justification) under Indian defamation law.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, StudyVerdict's total liability to any party for any claim arising from use of the Platform shall not exceed the fees paid by that party to StudyVerdict in the three months preceding the claim, or ₹10,000 (ten thousand rupees), whichever is lower.
StudyVerdict is not liable for indirect, consequential, special, or punitive damages of any kind.
11. Grievance Mechanism (IT Rules 2021 — Mandatory)
In compliance with Rule 3(2)(a) of the IT Rules, 2021, StudyVerdict has appointed a Grievance Officer. Any user or service provider may raise a grievance relating to content published on the Platform.
Grievance Officer: Editorial Team, StudyVerdict
Email: grievance@studyverdict.com
Address: India
We will acknowledge all grievances within 24 hours and resolve or respond to them within 15 days of receipt, in accordance with the IT Rules.
Providers wishing to dispute a specific review must use the grievance mechanism above and provide evidence supporting their claim. StudyVerdict will investigate and respond. A commercial relationship with StudyVerdict does not accelerate or guarantee a favourable outcome.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via the Platform. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall first be subject to good-faith negotiation for 30 days. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Delhi, India.
